WADA: Corruption Embedded in Athletics Body, IAAF

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

The World Anti Doping Agency publishes a report accusing the former head of the International Association of Athletics Federation of organising and enabling corruption. WADA says under Lamine Diack corruption was embedded in the organisation. The claims come after a terrible year for Fifa, another sporting body caught up in corruption scandals. With so much money linked to the IAAF through sponsorship deals, even more so in an Olympic year, this is set to be a massive hurdle for athletics. We speak to Anthony Marcou, an expert in sports marketing, about what is at stake. The recent collapse in the price of oil isn't just a problem for producers - supporters and providers of alternative energy sources are now having to compete with the rock bottom prices fossil fuels are enjoying. It is a lot cheaper for businesses to hit the open road than it was 18 months ago. Could this be a disaster for green energy? Columnist and environmental campaigner George Monbiot gives us his thoughts. Cindy Sui joins us from Taiwan with the latest news from the Asian continent, and hear how the family of an Angolan rebel leader are suing a computer games manufacturer for casting him in one of their games. We are joined by Catherine Yeung , investment director at Fidelity Worldwide Investment in Hong Kong, and Ralph Silva of the Silva Research Network in Toronto.
