We provide practical advice on how to avoid falling for internet scams. We hear from victims of vishing (voice call fraud), phishing (email/post fraud) and smishing (text fraud). Interpol tell us about the fake call centres across the world running the scams, and what is being done; Psychologists on why it’s fear, flattery and greed that lead to scamming success. We’ve also set up a ‘spot the fake’ exercise – examining a series of fraud emails sent to presenter Marie Keyworth. She goes through them with a cyber expert.
