Feral cats decimated the large seabird population of Ascension Island. It was once home to an important number of birds Ascension frigatebirds, brown and masked boobys, fairy terns, and black and brown noddies. With biologist Norman Ratcliffe of the RSPB is monitoring bird populations on Ascension Island.
