As migrants arrive in the port of Mytilene on the Greek island of Lesbos, Matthew Price finds out about their journeys. Asked whether migrants would be deterred from setting out on the journey once winter comes, one Syrian man said, 'winter is better than death, better than bombshells'. The UN estimates that nearly half a million migrants and refugees have arrived in Europe by the sea so far this year.
