Summer born babies are 20% less likely to go to university

If a child is born in the summer, their parents could delay their start of school by up to a year. That would be the effect of a proposal made by Schools Minister Nick Gibb in an open letter to parents, local authorities and headteachers. He set out his desire to change the School Admissions Code.
