Councils have started restricting the number of memorial benches marked with inscriptions recalling the dear departed. The latest council to do so is Bradford. Zoe Conway took a walk in the Yorkshire Moors and met Joy Goddfrey on a bench dedicated to her daughter Marianne. "I used to come here sometimes on very very fine days and I could almost feel the sun on my back and think: 'She's with me,'" said Ms Goddfrey. "It's quite emotional really."
