Councils restrict number of memorial benches

Councils have started restricting the number of memorial benches marked with inscriptions recalling the dear departed.

The latest council to do so is Bradford.

Zoe Conway took a walk in the Yorkshire Moors and met Joy Goddfrey on a bench dedicated to her daughter Marianne.

"I used to come here sometimes on very very fine days and I could almost feel the sun on my back and think: 'She's with me,'" said Ms Goddfrey.

"It's quite emotional really."
