Also in the spotlight, the world’s first malaria vaccine received its first regulatory green light. But is it effective and protective enough to roll out in low-income countries? Kenyan global health expert Tabitha Mwangi isn’t convinced. Plus an immunisation success story from Nigeria. A decade ago Nigeria became one of the world’s last hotspots for polio after vaccination boycotts in the north of the country. Happily, in the past year, there has not been one reported case of polio in the country.
