Armed police for Tunisia’s beaches

Today

Available for over a year

Tunisia’s beaches will now be protected by armed police in the wake of Friday's attack in the resort of Sousse. Holiday firms have scrambled extra flights on top of scheduled services for people seeking to flee back to Britain since the attack. Nabil Ammar, Tunisia’s ambassador to the UK, said: “The British blood mixed with Tunisian blood reminds me of the Second World War.” “This tragedy will only reinforce our bilateral ties.” The author of attack has been killed but he may have one or two or three persons who helped him, added Mr Ammar, as the police enquiry continued.
