India's IT Boom

A Richer World

Available for over a year

When the World Bank predicted earlier this year that India's growth would soon out-pace China's - many said about time too. As the world's only other country with a population over one billion, India is often compared with the world's 2nd biggest economy - but it comes number ten in that global list. As part of the BBC's Richer World series the BBC's South Asia correspondent Justin Rowlatt has been looking at India's growth areas. He started off in Bangalore, looking at the remarkable growth of India's IT industry. (Photo: Technician at a computing trade fair in Bangalore. Credit: Manjunath Kiran/AFP/Getty Images)
