Former Labour Party spin doctor, Alastair Campbell, described Russia's President, Vladimir Putin as "quite a scary guy" but admitted you "have to try and understand his motives" regarding Ukraine. Mr Campbell, who was a close associate of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, said Mr Putin was invited to Downing Street before he was the Russian President, and came across as "interesting" and "clever".
