‘Our Story’ is back on BBC Radio Scotland from Monday 7th July. In the first programme Mark Stephen meets some of the Nigerian community in Aberdeen. The first Nigerian student graduated from Aberdeen University in 1876 and now the city is home to Scotland’s largest population of expat Nigerians. Mark looks at the appeal of Aberdeen for Nigerians past and present, and gets an insight into how they maintain and adapt their culture in a city far from home. Dolapo Tade Faturoti takes Mark shopping for ingredients at one of the Nigerian shops in Aberdeen before cooking him Egusi with Vegetables. You can hear the whole edition of Our Story on Monday 7th July at 1.30pm.
