In this workshop session, Charles Hazlewood is joined by members of the BBC Philharmonic to unravel the complexities of Tippett's song cycle. The composer regarded Songs for Dov as one of his most personal works, revealing much about his "take" on the musical and cultural world of the 1960s. Singing the demanding role of Dov is tenor Nigel Robson, who sang the work for the composer on many occasions.
