2014 will be a big year for Brazil with the football World Cup and presidential and other elections later in the year. President Rousseff is currently the favourite to win again, but economic growth has slowed under her presidency and, if the World Cup goes badly, that could count against her. Also some critics allege that Brazil’s emergence on the world stage has lost momentum under her leadership.
