Leicestershire's Green Plaque Scheme

Jonathan Lampon

Available for over a year

What does a member of the Monty Python team, a Dambuster and a bell foundry have in common? Well, for a start, they each have strong connections with Leicestershire. But, in addition, they're all on a shortlist of people and places nominated to receive a new honour, a green plaque. Leicestershire County Council has been asking the public to put forward names of people and places who deserve to be celebrated with one of its new Green Plaque awards. Twelve have made it onto the shortlist. Now it's up to you to pick the final six. So who are the twelve we have to choose from? Here's the first six.
