BBC Radio Manchester's Allan Beswick spoke to Melanie who uses a Foodbank in Stockport

Allan Beswick

Available for over a year

BBC Radio Manchester's Allan Beswick has been talking about people who're struggling to get food on the table in the run up to Christmas. Foodbanks are increasingly being used. For example, a foodbank in Stockport, run by the Trussell Trust, fed more than 500 people in November this year. That's a five fold increase on the same time last year. Melanie from Stockport got help from a foodbank last year, to help feed the two grandchildren she looks after. Unfortunately, she says she'll have to use it again this year.
