Sheena Byrom, a midwife based in Lancashire, tells Shelagh Fogarty some midwives have told her “they are so scared of the repercussions of them not writing something down, that sometimes they write it, even if they haven’t done it” and “the focus of the care goes on the record, rather than the woman or the family”.
