'Disabled people understand risk in a very different way'

Inside the Ethics Committee

Available for over a year

Joan Bakewell speaks to disability campaigner Kaliya Franklin, fertility expert Alison Murdoch and ethicist Deborah Bowman to discuss the ethics in the case of Rosemary, who has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and is seeking assisted conception despite the risks it poses to her life. Kaliya argues that disabled people have a very different appreciation of risk, especially from clinicians, because of the ever-present risks they live with every day.
