As the BBC's season of programming about the global middle class draws to a close, we examine the African middle class. We've brought together Wallace Kantai, the business editor of NTV in Kenya and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State in Nigeria, to ask what makes an African a member of the middle class. The African Development Bank, says if you earn between two and twenty dollars a day, you're middle class -- but with cost of living varying wildly across the continent, what does that even mean? We are also in Brazil, where the 'Classe C' - as the new middle class is known - has risen up to demand more. Our reporter finds out that you can live in a favela and still be considered a fully paid up member of the Classe C.
