Episode details

Available for over a year
There was a time when the future of small village schools looked bleak. Take Somerby School near Melton for example. For a while there were only ten pupils and closure seemed like a sad inevitability. Yet, just a couple of years later and the numbers are up dramatically and it's once again a busy thriving school. BBC Radio Leicester's Ben Jackson spent some time with head teacher, Julia Hurelle.
