Ice Age Art

The Strand

Available for over a year

Ice Age Art: Arrival of the Modern Mind is a new exhibition at the British Museum in London which brings together sculptures, drawings and portraits created between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago and argues that they should be viewed not as ethnographic objects but as art. It is Chinese New Year this weekend and a typical, traditional Chinese way of celebrating is to stay at home with your family watching the Spring Galas on TV. But this year Celine Dion is booked to sing the Titanic theme song on state TV's New Year Gala, in a bid to appeal to younger viewers. Linda Kennedy in Hong Kong reports. The BBC's Gidi Kleiman discusses the Israeli documentary, The Gatekeepers, which looks at Shin Bet - the country's secret service. Director Dror Moreh gained rare access to the six former heads of the organisation, who speak frankly about their role protecting the Israeli state.
