Business Daily

Available for over a year

Joaquín Almunia, the European competition commissioner has given Google "a matter of weeks" to propose remedies to what the EC says are potential "abuses of dominances" in its internet search and advertising business. Jacques Lafitte wrote and filed one of the complaints which kicked off the European Commission's investigation into Google. He claims that the French website 1plusV was excluded unfairly from Google's searches. He explains the allegations to Lesley Curwen. In response to the case, Google argued it competes fair and square in the market, and has done nothing to choke off competition. Plus, Jeppe Vilstrup Hansgaard, a partner at the Danish consultancy Innovisor, explains why people often choose to collaborate at work with their own gender. And the BBC's Juliania Liu in Hong Kong describes a new and ambitious attempt to standardise Chinese medicine. (Image: EU competition commssioner Joaquin Almunia. Credit: AFP / Getty Images)
