Two months ago, Singapore got wired for speed - homes and businesses got their first chance to sign up to the island's new fibre optic system delivering broadband connections at very high speed. The government thinks that super-connectivity is both a creator of enterprise and a basic part of the infrastructure that will attract incoming corporations.
