Singapore is putting high hopes on speeding up the internet as part of a battle for speedy connectivity going on across Asia.
Two months ago, Singapore got wired for speed - homes and businesses got their first chance to sign up to the island's new fibre optic system delivering broadband connections at very high speed.
The government thinks that super-connectivity is both a creator of enterprise and a basic part of the infrastructure that will attract incoming corporations. Peter Day attempts to find out if this is a realistic proposition.
