Once a year the small town of Dangriga in Belize erupts in noisy celebration as the Garifuna people re-enact the original arrival of their ancestors on the coasts of Central America. On Settlement Day all the festivities - even the Catholic Mass - resound to traditional Garifuna drum rhythms and singing. Accompanied by Belize's biggest star, the Garifuna singer Andy Palacio, Lucy Duran discovers how the music of the Garifuna forms an integral part of their unique yet fragile culture.
