Health Check

Available for over a year

Vivienne Parry continues her look at why patients take part in clinical trials, this week focusing on gene therapy trials for cystic fibrosis. The lungs in cystic fibrosis patients get clogged up with sticky mucus because of a faulty gene. Patients receiving the first doses of this “gene therapy” explain to Vivienne Parry why they’re excited about taking part in a trial - which might not even benefit them personally.
