STREET SAFETY Connie continues her important focus on the issue of violence on women and girls in Scotland. DATA CENTRES The Scottish Government announced this week that there will be more scrutiny of plans for large-scale data centres. Twenty-four hyperscale data centres are currently proposed or moving through the planning system here in Scotland, and the response has been mixed. Some say the country needs to cash in on the tech boom, but there are real worries in some quarters about the massive amounts of power they will need and the environmental impact they might have. Connie asks: would you welcome a data centre near you? A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP Sleep that is extremely disrupted or that goes on too long could mean a loss of nine months from working life after the age of 50, a new study suggests.
