Comedian and legend of the black circuit, Slim, has been given a gift by his children. It's an empty book. It turns out, they want him to fill it in himself, and tell them about his life in the process. He's lived a hell of a life, so he thought the Radio 4 listener might be interested too. This episode, Slim guides us through his earliest years. Avoiding glue sniffers, hopping on the bus, and trying to avoid getting the belt. We also hear about his family, and why his brother wasn't much use in a playground fight. Written and performed by Slim Script Edited by David Ajao Production Coordinator: Caroline Barlow Executive Producer: Pete Strauss Recorded at Up The Creek comedy club by Chris Maclean. Sound design by Chris Maclean Music by Slim Slim's Guide to Life is produced by Gwyn Rhys Davies, and is a BBC Studios production for Radio 4.
