Olga has been living in an accommodation centre for Ukrainians refugees in a church in Moldova. Finding work is a struggle and Olga looks forward to the day she can earn enough money to rent an apartment. Pavel left Russia in September last year, just days after Vladimir Putin mobilised military reservists to fight the war in Ukraine. Now Pavel is alone in Kazakhstan but the clock is ticking on his temporary resident's permit. Emran was among one million or so migrant workers who helped build the stadiums which hosted the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. But it wasn't long before Emran found there was an unexpected price to pay.
