John Shuttleworth is back on Radio 4 for a two-part series where he is once again welcoming us into the family home he shares with his wife Mary (who is not as keen on being on the radio as her husband). John is preparing to attend a party at Joan Chitty’s house, but his spirit is dampened when his sole agent and next-door neighbour, Ken Worthington, reveals that he can’t join John at Joan’s as he has a prior invitation from Bobby Davro. This is the kind of showbiz party that John would very much like to attend but Ken flatly refuses to take John with him. This is John Shuttleworth’s 30th year in production for radio and each episode in the series contains new songs, including Shall We Share The Shortbread Shirley, Pumice Stone and Blister Pack.
