BBC 6 Music’s Afrodeutsche is joined by composer and friend Errollyn Wallen to explore the vast vaults of the BBC archive centre – home to hundreds of thousands of records, including rare gems no longer commercially available. They’re guided through a specially curated listening selection by grams library manager Oscar Paul – starting with jazz great Ella Fitzgerald (including one of her earliest ever vocal credits in 1935). Also featuring the music of Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, Belizian singer-songwriter Nadia Cattouse, and her contemporary – black British folk artist Dorris Henderson.
