Cruising Comeback; Fuel Payments; Energy Prices

You and Yours

Available for over a year

The cruise industry has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic. International cruises from the UK all but ceased in March 2020 and there were lurid stories of entire ships becoming infected as Covid-19 spread across the globe. But there was some relief in May when cruising around the UK was allowed and from today the ban on travel abroad is lifted. We speak to cruise industry experts and passengers about what travel onboard will look like. Listeners have been getting in touch after they discovered holding deposits of £100 had been taken from their bank accounts when they paid for fuel at petrol pumps. It’s part of a trial of a new payment system to guard against theft. But it hasn’t been going quite to plan. And the biggest increase in our energy bills in a decade is expected to be announced this week - we'll have expert analysis.
