Vicky Trimble and her wife Roz Stephens visit Northern Ireland to explore different experiences and opinions as the first same sex weddings take place here. As they meet with friends and with members of Vicky’s family, this documentary explores a historic change taking place from a uniquely personal perspective. Vicky’s father, David Trimble has been on a profound journey - from being opposed to same sex marriage, to endorsing it in the House of Lords, to walking his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day. It is a journey that mirrors changes in Northern Ireland as a whole as new legislation changes the status of unions between gay men and lesbian women. Vicky and Roz reflect on a historic moment for the LGBTQ community in Northern Ireland and what it means for them as a couple.
