Universal credit, Botox, M&S knickers row

You and Yours

Available for over a year

You & Yours visits a charity in Birkenhead that has been helping women who are struggling to cope financially since the switch to Universal Credit. Some women are facing gaps in their income of between 5 and 8 weeks. The charity says the policy of one payment being made per household has also left some women vulnerable to financial abuse by their partners. Feminists have described a Marks & Spencer window display that suggests women must have "fancy little knickers" as sexist and "vomit-inducing". The display at the Nottingham store is juxtaposed with one which suggests men must have "outfits to impress" - suits. Plus over-the-counter cosmetic procedures like botox and fillers have never been more popular. But campaign group Save Face says it has seen an 'alarming' increase in the number of complaints about procedures going wrong, and is calling for tougher regulations.
