Underwear: What do we wear and who is it for?

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

At a time when what women wear and where they wear it is the subject of fierce political debate, we discuss women's most intimate clothing choice: their underwear. How do we feel about our undies? Who are we wearing them for? And how is the industry that sells them to us changing? The Knickerbox founder and former Victoria's Secret Chief Creative Officer Janie Schaffer talks us through the changes she's seen, and made, in the world of lingerie. The proudly mis-matched Jenny Éclair makes the case for big cotton pants. And we send Jane Garvey for a bra-fitting. Jane is also joined in the studio by an expert panel of women who know just what they want from their underwear. Presenter: Jane Garvey Producer: Helen Fitzhenry Editor: Alice Feinstein.
