Scottish Tea

On Your Farm

Available for over a year

Sun-kissed hillsides in India, China, Kenya and Sri Lanka may produce the bulk of the world's tea but Scottish tea drinkers now have the opportunity to sample a home-grown brew. In Dumfries and Galloway Angela Hurrell is defying the climactic odds to produce a single-leaf tea. Caz Graham helps with one of Britain's smallest harvests. (The tea trader who appears in this episode, Thomas Robinson, also known as Tam O'Braan, was convicted of fraud in 2025 in relation to his supply of mislabelled tea plants to unsuspecting growers and the sale of imported tea labelled as Scottish tea to retail and catering outlets, as detailed in this BBC News story: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyg59yn10mo)
