Front Row reveals this year's Costa Book Awards shortlist. Critic Alex Clark comments on the authors chosen in the five categories; novel, first novel, poetry, biography and children's fiction. The Hunger Games' film franchise reaches its conclusion with Mockingjay: Part 2, with Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as the rebellious Katniss Everdeen for the last time. Sophia McDougall reviews the film which is released in UK cinemas this week. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is best-known as the leading National Basketball Association scorer, but he is also a best-selling author. His latest book, Mycroft Holmes, is a thriller about Sherlock Holmes' older brother. So how did an American come to write about this very English character? Andrew Collins assesses the new TV adaptation of The Man In The High Castle, based on Philip K Dick's novel about America after an Axis victory in the Second World War, and which boasts Ridley Scott as executive producer.
