David Henry Hwang's play M Butterfly won a Tony and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. When he spoke out against Jonathan Pryce being cast in a Eurasion role for a Broadway production of Miss Saigon, the resulting controversy inspired both his play Face Value and the follow up drama Yellow Face. As the National Theatre's Shed venue stages this 2007 drama Yellow Face, he talks about reflecting life as an Asian American on stage.
