David Henry Hwang's play M Butterfly won a Tony and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. When he spoke out against Jonathan Pryce being cast in a Eurasion role for a Broadway production of Miss Saigon, the resulting controversy inspired both his play Face Value and the follow up drama Yellow Face.
