Research suggests that the public's trust in lawyers is lower than other professions. It also shows that many people with a legal problem avoid seeing a lawyer, preferring instead to tackle it themselves. So what can the profession do to improve its public image? A think tank is claiming that London and the South East of England get more than their fair share of investment in public transport. If that is the case, what is the impact on areas far from the capital? It has been a difficult year on the High Street with lots of big retail names closing their doors. But how are the small independent stores faring? They are often family-owned and run, and some succeed in attracting a large and loyal customer base. But for others, the last few months have been really challenging. Cycling is enjoying a new wave of popularity. But as more people have taken to two wheels, a new genre of fashion has been spawned.
