As BBC Radio 3 celebrates British music throughout June, Tom Service travels to Cornwall to discover the music making of Britain's most south-western county. Visiting Padstow, St Ives, St Endellion and Treen he talks to composers and writers and musicians who have made their home in Cornwall. Composer Graham Fitkin talks about the stark contrasts of the landscape and how his running and swimming help his compositional process. At St Endellion, the home of the Easter and Summer music festivals, writer Patrick Gale discusses how the tiny hamlet attracts some of the country's finest musicians. Celebrating the 100 anniversary of the birth of Cornish composer George Lloyd, Tom visits his birthplace, St Ives, and talking to those who knew Lloyd discovers how much of his music was influenced directly by the Cornish countryside. And Tom stops off in the north coast seaside resort of Perranporth as members of the Cornish folk band Dalla prove that Cornish folk music is alive and well.-.
