As BBC Radio 3 marks the bicentenary of one of the greatest and most influential European events - Napoleon Bonaparte's historic retreat from Russia in 1812, Anne McElvoy talks to a great-great-grandnephew of Napoleon, Charles Napoleon and examines the ambivalent relationship between France and one of its most notorious leaders with political commentator Agnes Poirier, Professor Peter Hicks from the Napoleon foundation and Professor Michael Broers. Anne also discusses the winner of this year's Turner Prize, announced this evening, with the critic Adrian Searle. The work of the winner and the other shortlisted artists is on show at Tate Britain until 6th January. And there's a look at the first comprehensive history of Georgia for decades, using recently accessible archives from author Donald Rayfield. That's all on Night Waves with Anne McElvoy at 10pm.
