Matthew Sweet talks to the playwright Edward Bond as a revival of 'Saved' opens. The play opened in 1965 after being banned by the Lord Chancellor because of its scenes of violence and abuse. The Royal Court Theatre responded by turning itself into a club theatre in order to show the play which divided critics, many horrified by the portrayal of a baby being stoned to death.
