Bach's Concerto in D minor for Two Violins

Soul Music

Available for over a year

So little is known about the life of JS Bach, yet his music opens up a world of imagination. His Concerto in D minor is often described as being like a conversation between two lovers. David Gregory of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, rock guitarist Steve Hackett, and Terry Waite CBE, are among those moved by the music of the two violins as they imitate, interrupt and overlap each other in one of Bach's most sublime creations. Taking part: Mr and Mrs David Gregory Terry Waite Simon Heighes Fionnaigh McKenzie Steve Hackett Lara St John Gillian Teadley Series about music that makes the hairs stand up on the back of our necks. Producer: Kate McAll First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in July 2004.
