Racecourse Common, Oswestry Just to the east of Offa's Dyke and 1,000 feet up in the hills above Oswestry lies the site of Oswestry's old racecourse. Once the centre of the town's social scene once a year, the spot is now a tranquil hillside with views across into Staffordshire and Cheshire, and the Welsh hills to the West.
Today the common is a popular place for recreation, as well as a wildlife haven.
