Cambrian Railway Site
Oswestry expanded rapidly in the railway age, when the Cambrian Railway Company set up its headquarters in the town. This picture, taken from the former works footbridge, shows the old works building (now an antiques dealership), along with the railway station building (derelict in 2004) and the site of the goods yard, which is now a supermarket. Also to be seen are the four diesel locomotives on static display just off Gobowen Road. Find out more about Oswestry's past as a railway town. | |
