News
Penicuik Skatepark

The big news this week is that work to get an outdoor, concrete park built in Penicuik is under way. Dave Sowerby's had more than a hand (or do the size of Dave's hands classify them as paws?) in the making the plans and he's even done the website (see link at the bottom). I tells ya - that man puts us all to shame.

It's in the preliminary stages at the moment, but ideally, the plan is to have building starting this summer, with an eye to being finished around October 2005 (but don't quote us on that).

With the Edinburgh park also being (hopefully) built by this summer, this all means that the east coast will finally have some new, WAY overdue parks. Just think - Edinburgh, Penicuik AND Livi - sheesh! As Dave said: 'The west coast has had it too good for too long!'

We'll keep you up to date with info and plans as we get them, but in the meantime, the website's here:
www.penicuikskatepark.co.uk

If you have anything that you think people might like to know about BMX in Scotland, email us (airtight@bbc.co.uk), with 'BMX News' in the subject window. Cheers.
