The Schnittke movement is a mordant piano waltz, pursued and dragged into chaos by the Furies of the strings. The Part is simple and solemn, whilst the (typical) Bryars is one of a series of ten 5-minute pieces intended to be played on successive nights to close a programme (now there's an idea!); even if you don't like it, you can at least learn how to cheat at cards....
