Yo La Tengo: I Heard You Looking (7mins 03secs)
Album: Prisoners of Love
Matador OLE618-2

BACKGROUND
Three great solo performances on very different instruments.
The first comes from Philip Glass, and a fairly recent recording of the piece with which he debuted back in 1968. That hypnotic and strangely rapturous piece is played in this instance on amplified violin by Francesco Peverini.
The next solo is on computer, and it’s a piece of minimalist electronica from the hand of Laurie Spiegel, who is famous for her creation of the computer music software, Music Mouse. She’s also had some of her music blasted into space by NASA.
And finally, we have the Hoboken based indie group, Yo La Tengo. They’ve just released a retrospective and career-spanning compilation on Matador records, and this is a rather blissful track with a stunningly euphoric guitar solo.
