BACKGROUND
No matter how I try to describe or nominate these three tracks, it sounds churlish and slightly childish. They are gay anthems, after a fashion. Not all gay anthems have to be boom-de-boom-de disco classics and ultimatley camp (yuck). These three song represent 3 aspects of boy/boy love and should be celebrated. The Shock Headed Peters is a deep brooding number, extolling the joys of love in difficult circunstances, regardless of the sex of your partner. Montreal's Hidden Cameras are joyous from all angles, again providing music as an alternative to love or vice versa. While Mark Eitzel dessects current American foreign policy while watching a male stripper stut his stuff in an affecting, unusual way.
