BACKGROUND
I often wonder why an artist picks a particular song as the title track of a record. Why that one? Is it because its represnetative of the whole work, or do they simply like that title the best? These three title tracks speak for themselves, due to their over powering beauty and tremendous feel. Norwegian Okland is the master of the Hardanger fiddler, which produces a sweet and unforgettable sound, especially as employed here. Michael Jon Fink, from the Cold Blue stable of remarkable artists, also uses hushed tones and sparse instrumentation to create an eerie, sensual feel. And finally Mali's master of the balafon, Keletigui Diabate, who has finally decided to release a solo album after 50 years in the business. But it was well worth the wait, with the album's title tracl indicative of the incredible musicianship and beautiful feel within.
